I remember the first time I saw a turtle, I was scuba diving and my jaw just dropped (I almost lost my mouthpiece!). There is a warmth and an inquisitiveness in those eyes; he was looking at me and I, with delight, at him. I've been hooked on turtles since.

The organisers of the Dahab Festival are determined to prove once and for all that this is the Red Sea resort to beat, not just for diving and water sports, but on culture too.

Returning for its second year, the annual Dahab Festival of Culture and Water Sports will take place from April 14th – April 20th.

A series of events, including live music and competitions organised by tradesmen and women, as well as members of the community are part of the region's bid to boost tourism in a sometimes overlooked Red Sea resort.
