Google doodle remembers Tutankhamun discoverer

Today Google marked the 138th birthday of Howard Carter, the archaeologist who discovered the tomb of Tutankhamun, by creating a Google Doodle inspired by the event.

Anyone who visits the site will be greeted with the design, which depicts Carter discovering the inside of the tomb.

Carter discovered the tomb, full of “wonderful things” in 1922, he shot to fame and Egyptmania was unleashed - as the tomb was the best preserved that had ever been found. It took a total of eight years to clear the tomb, which had over 5,000 objects in it.

Czech Beer Festival: Top Brewery Tours in Prague

Now in its 5th year, the Czech Beer Festival in Prague is a city-wide celebration of local beers, food and music, with a fantastic selection of ales, pilsners and lagers.

Held between the 17th May and 2nd June 2012, the centre of the festival is held in the Vystaviste Praha Holesovice Park, which is filled from corner to corner with beer tents, each offering beers ranging from local microbrewery creations to the biggest Czech names, including Staropramen and Pilsner Urquell, as well as live folk music and food platters served in traditional beer hall style!
